(DIS) 2019: Screen Time at GBBN October 11 During BLINK; teaser at CCAD October 9-13
Every year, GBBN undertakes its Design Issues Series (DIS), an open-ended design experiment that deepens the community’s connection to the processes that shape our built environment. This year’s DIS, “Screen Time,” asks how screens shape our built environment.
The exhibit is an interactive, crowd-sourced, 3D projection-mapping experiment. Using 3D projection-mapping technology, we allow you to experience space at three scales that architects move between during the design process. The full exhibit involves a fabricated 3D wall that contains a series of identical, axonometric cells into which crowd-sourced images and videos are projected, as well as an interactive “sandbox” and “photobooth” through which people can generate further images that become a part of the the exhibit in real-time.
The full, interactive exhibit can be experienced at GBBN’s office (332 E. 8th St.) during BLINK on Friday, October 11 (5-9 pm).
You can also get a taste of the experiment at AIA Cincinnati’s office (1114 Race Street), where we’ll be displaying a portion of the installation’s digital quilt and a video describing how the project came together. The teaser will run at the CCAD from Wednesday, October 9 – Sunday, October 13.
