Learning Objectives

  • LED vs Incandescent. Advancements in LED lighting have exploded and opened up a new world of creativity – But these new opportunities are not without their challenges. Gain a better understanding of how to correctly implement LED technology and avoid the pitfalls that plague this new industry.
  • LED Innovations. LED technology has sparked an evolution in environmental wellness within a home. Products like Tunable White, Dim to Warm, and High Vibrancy applications have expanded how we view and apply lighting as a design element. Learn the definitions of these terms and concepts and how they impact the lighted environment that the architect creates.
  • Color Rendering. LEDs are notoriously inaccurate at faithfully reproducing color. To make matters worse, loose standards and questionable specifications make it difficult to choose products with good color fidelity. Learn how to identify the best color rendering fixtures for your projects.
  • Value Proposition. Are $500 LED fixtures really better than $100 fixtures? The answer is not always so obvious. Gain a better understanding of the innovations and technical challenges that create vast pricing gaps between LED lighting products.
