Program Description
Architectural Acoustics and Noise Control in Building Design
An overview of Acoustics and Noise Control Principals and design methodology. A special emphasis is placed on looking at common building types where acoustics and noise control are often required.
Learning Objectives
Concepts, Principles of Sound – general overview
- Acquire knowledge of basic acoustic principles, including absorption, reflection and diffusion
- Acquire knowledge of noise control principles. Learn how mass, airspace and resilience can be used to control noise
- Learn about building code requirements for noise control as well as other standards for occupant comfort
- Discover how to use acoustic and noise control products successfully in building design
Application of Materials
- Acoustic finishes for optimal listening quality
- Feature several products, samples and their application
- Sound separation walls, floors, and ceilings
- Feature several products, samples and their application
