Program Description

Conceptualizing the Model for Better Project Performance (limited seating; interactive workshop; bring laptop)

FormIt is an BIM-Powered architectural modeling software, created by Autodesk, that allows architects to sketch, collaborate, analyze and share early stage design concepts on any phone, laptop, computer or tablet. It looks and feels like Sketchup but is created to seamlessly integrate with Revit, minimizing that dreaded reproduction time you have when taking a Sketchup model into Revit. Come to our interactive workshop and learn, hands-on, about the FormIt interface and the benefit it can bring to you and your company.

Learn more by watching Autodesk’s video about the program: https://formit.autodesk.com.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will learn how to fully design conceptual models to better understand how occupants may interact with the space and optimize the design before moving into design development.
  • Participants will learn how to share and collaborate with conceptual models for better project performance for end-users.
  • Participants will learn how to integrate their conceptual models into the BIM workflow to further improve workflow, building design, and facilitate the coordination of construction documents.
  • Participants will learn how to leverage conceptual models for energy analysis to mitigate environmental impact and modify for best energy savings.
