12 Mar COVID-19 UPDATE & UPCOMING EVENTS
3.17.20 Event News & Online Learning Opportunities
COVID-19 is top of mind and the news, with changes and updates occurring hourly. Please check AIA Cincinnati’s website and Facebook page for the latest information about our events and programs. If you are registered for a program, we also will reach out to you directly should the status of your program change.
While we had to postpone a couple of CE programs this month and the AIA National conference in May has been postponed, you can always find online CE classes through AIAU. AIA National is working on rescheduling the conference, although it is unclear at this point whether it will be in-person or virtual.
The Boston Society of Architects is hosting an online program on Tuesday, March 17, from 6-8 pm about remote work for architects. The program is open to anyone. We are working on a similar program for firms in our region and AIA Ohio is planning a statewide town hall for early April. As these and other resources become available, we will share them with you.
AIA Cincinnati’s CRANawards event has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2020. We look forward to seeing you there!
Unfortunately, Cincinnati Canstruction is one of the casualties of the closures. The food, which has already been purchased, will be donated to Freestore Foodbank as planned. Many thanks to Belcan, BHDP, Champlin, CR, Danis, Elevar/Kroger, GBBN, HDR, Hixon, K4 Architects/TriHealth, KZF/PEDCO, MA/HGC, MSA, Nelson, Neyer, UC-Construction Student Association, and Woolpert for supporting Canstruction this year.
In these uncertain times, community is important. Thank you for your continued support of the profession and your care for those around you.
3.12.20 COVID-19 UPDATE AND UPCOMING EVENTS
With the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we want to inform you that AIA Cincinnati’s April 2 CRANawards event will continue as scheduled. Attendance at all programs will be limited to 75 people to comply with the new public gathering ban. Unfortunately, the March 19 CRAN Marsh Madness and VISION keynote lecture have been cancelled. We hope to reschedule those programs soon. The March 18 Academy WELL Building/Zero Energy program has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
For our programs, we will be mindful of our behavior and implement extra cleaning and provide hand washing/sanitizing options. We encourage you to limit handshaking during this time as well.
If you are feeling unwell, or have been around someone feeling unwell, PLEASE make the choice to stay home, especially if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever, respiratory issues).
We encourage you to check vetted sources on COVID-19 related issues, such as the resource guide compiled by the Public Library.
Should an event require cancellation, email notification will be sent to the registered attendees as soon as we are made aware of the situation.
We also respect your decisions about your own health and the health of loved ones around you. Those with an underlying health concern who may wish to cancel their registration for a program, should contact firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss a refund.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation with this matter. We will continue to provide updates as changes occur.
