The goal of this program and committee is to recognize high quality design in the regional community and to educate the general public to the benefits of supporting quality design.
Each year AIA Cincinnati, the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Cincinnati/Dayton City Center, the American Society of Interior Designer (ASID) Cincinnati/Dayton, the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) Midwest Cincinnati and the Miami Section of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) invite their members to present their best work for awards in their respective annual design competitions. The Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati also awards its annual "Hammer" award.
All entries are judged by a common jury of distinguished guests connected to all facets of the design profession. The principle juror is generally an Architect of national renown. Awards are presented at the Cincinnati Design Awards banquet affording a significant opportunity for members to display their talents to the local media in a highly public venue.
