psyCANdelic is an iconic structure representing a nostalgic era in popular culture. The lava lamp is a well-recognized design element from years past that still lives on today. From the multi-colored shag carpeting (corn and green beans), to the shimmering silver base and top (2050 cans of sardines), to the crystal clear Fiji water, this structure will be a rockin' donation to the FreeStore/FoodBank. So, take it easy, and check out the groovy movements in the psyCANdelic world without hunger.

Have you ever watched a single hot air balloon floating through the sky?  It's a beautiful sight to see.  Even more breathtaking to behold is seeing dozens, or even hundreds of these balloons soaring through the clouds (notice the cantilevering).  Like the hot air balloons, one person can make a difference in ending hunger, but when we all work together we can rise above hunger.  Made up of over 9,000 cans of meat and fish, this colorful creation is sure to be a feast for the eyes and the stomachs of hungry people everywhere!

The colossal stone statues found on Easter Island are unmistakable monuments that are both mysterious and often forgotten.  Moai, as they are called, symbolize "living faces" of a culture that endured famines and disease, and struggled mightily with self-sufficiency during their existence.  Today, we find people in our own backyard that struggle with many of these same issues.  We may not be able to really grasp the magnitude of the hunger problem in our world today, but we can help fight it on the local front through the donation of food to those in need.  The "living face" and haunting sunken eyes of our sculpture symbolize their plight.  A monochromatic palette of bean cans (2000 cans each of baked beans, kidney beans and pork and beans) was chosen both for their use in hunger prevention and health, as well as to articulate the monolithic construction of the Moai.  Every non-perishable food item donated by our sponsors help us support the FreestoreFoodbank in their Monumental Fight Against Hunger.

A wise frog once said, "It's not easy being green."   But today, it can be easy being green, and one frog can make a difference—whether aiding in the fight against hunger or in the fight to reduce the depletion of our environment.

With every can, we take a step toward providing a balanced meal for the more than 150,000 people who access hunger relief programs supported by the FreeStore/FoodBank.  Green's the color of green beans, peas, broccoli and numerous other fruits and vegetables, which are packed with important nutrients.  Our can structure includes over 2000 pounds of vegetables and protein to aid in this fight, including 3000 cans of tuna, 400 cans of chicken, 300 cans of corn, 100 cans of green beans and 500 cans of mushrooms.

As an architecture firm, we take green steps everyday to make a difference.  On each of our projects, we implement environmentally friendly design practices to help nurture and conserve our environment.  Recently, we completed the City of Cincinnati's first certified "green" project—Cincinnati Fire Station No. 9.  This year, we also planted 2,500 trees to help restore our national forests.

If we all do our part, one green frog can make a difference.
